One of the funny moments on our trip was the breakfast at IHOP in Wyoming. The waitress was very nice, but the little blue pad & blue crayon she was using to take our orders made us wonder if we would get what we ordered. Steve was the lucky guy . . . his "over easy" eggs turned into broccoli and his hash brown potatoes became mashed potatoes. He had ordered Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, although he did get his pancakes - tasty . . . broccoli for breakfast :o)

Made it home

It's good to be walking up my sidewalk! It took several trips to gather all my stuff from Ryan's truck.
Ryan has carried my bags for 2 weeks - in and out of the truck to the motel rooms :o) Should have tipped him!
YEA !!! Home at last :o) It was a fun trip, but 2 weeks is a bit long.

Views from the road

Every state has road work going on. It wouldn't be a road trip without them!!
The deer crossing signs are about every 1 1/2 miles in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas & Oklahoma. We saw quite a few deer (and other animals) on our trip.
There isn't much in Kansas, except Wheat and corn fields. The wheat really is golden colored. I kept looking for SOMETHING to take a picture of.
Ryan was driving behind this Daylight Donut truck on the way home. I really could have used a tasty donut :o)

Lunch at Rest Stop in Wyoming

Eating lunch at a Wyoming Rest Stop. Yum . . . . sandwiches !
It is really windy, look at Noah's hair and Cameron's shirt blowing in the breeze.
Cameron & Noah's first experience with a cherry pitter. They don't eat cherries, just wanted to shoot pits out :o)

Bugs on the windshield

The bugs sound like hail hitting the windshield!
They left a nasty mess :o)

It took Ryan several scrubbings to get the little buggers off.

More pictures to come.

Walking the Walk at Yellowstone

We walked a tremendous amount at Yellowstone to see all of the sights. This is a picture of us leaving Old Faithful after the 5:07pm eruption on Wednesday evening. I will try and post the video of the eruption of Old Faithful later this weekend after we get home.

Funny Wildlife at Yellowstone (Pictures by Jani)

The very dramatic chipmunk.
The elusive Addy Moose in her natural habitat.
This was the smallest pile of elk droppings in the area where we had our picnic lunch. Hopefully you are not eating while viewing the blog.

More pictures from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons will follow later.

The Sign at the North Entrance to Yellowstone

No really, this sign says what you think it says. It makes you wonder what some visitors have done to some of the animals.

Some Pictures from Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons

This picture is from the Grand Tetons.

The three pictures above are from Yellowstone. Further pictures and video will follow, but the Wednesday and Thursday have been long days. Look for additional updates over the weekend.

Dinner at Applebee's in Bozeman

Everyone enjoying dinner at Applebee's in Bozeman.
As a side note we actually had a 4-5 year old little boy at the table across from us drop the F Bomb at dinner. Apparently his sister ate something off his plate, and he flipped out and dropped the F word out loud. Very "Christmas Story" moment. His mother looked like she was going to choke the kid out.

It looks like we got one upped for the "Jerry Springer Show".

Tuesday Travel in Montana

Today was another travel day before we get to Yellowstone. Since Monday was such a long day we only made the drive from Missoula, Montana to Bozeman, Montana. Tomorrow we are heading to Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons!

This is a picture out the window of the truck from the awesome cloud cover in Montana.

It's windy in Montana, but Addy loves running around at the rest stops.

Lauren in the car enjoying the scenery and quiet children.

Update from Monday Travel

These are some pictures from the trip from Tacoma, Washington to Missoula, Montana on Monday.

This was the bathroom stop in rural Washington. We need to bottle and sell the fragrance.

This was the picnic lunch at the rest stop in Washington. The wind was really blowing, so we ended up feeding a few crows as well.

Steve is really having a good time on the trip.

The clouds were really low in the panhandle of Idaho.

We missed the welcome to Montana sign on I-90. This is from the rest stop right inside the border. This will have to do.

We will try and blog from Yellowstone over the next few days.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Once we got to Tacoma we've been tired and then picked up Steve at the airport and went to Seattle.
